Sustainability
The connection between sport and sustainability is becoming increasingly important in a time of global ecological and social challenges. Sport inspires and motivates people, shapes lifestyles, creates community and has the potential to actively shape change. At the same time, sport has a responsibility to use resources consciously, reduce emissions and take social aspects into account in a holistic manner.
As Switzerland's political centre and a city with a strong sustainability profile, Berne offers an inspiring setting for forward-looking discussions. However, we also aim to set an example of how conference operations can be organised in a sustainable manner. As part of our sustainability concept, concrete measures are defined to ensure that the event is resource-efficient, climate-conscious and socially responsible. With the aim of not only imparting knowledge but also putting sustainability into practice, we are creating a conference that provides guidance and demonstrates that sport and sustainability can be effective partners for a sustainable future.
Mobility is a key lever for environmental sustainability. The SuN Conference 2025 is a conference of short distances! Located in the heart of Europe, Berne can be reached quickly and efficiently by public transport from many parts of Europe. These are ideal conditions for low-emission travel. Participants also benefit from short distances within the city: the venue, railway station and historic city centre – and thus most accommodation – are within a 5-minute walk. Most hotels also offer a ticket for public transport in the city of Bern as a free additional service.
